Role Overview
As a Senior Quantitative UX Designer at Willis Towers Watson, you will join a collaborative team of fellow Business, Product, Design and Technical stakeholders to work on transforming the Human Capital Management industry, by turning complex problems into elegant solutions that delight our clients and our users. We create enterprise-level web software for Human Resource professionals and employees.
This role with be working across our Talent & Reward product portfolio to design quantitative data visualizations that best serve our client and user needs.
Working within an Agile SDLC, you will highly-collaborate with business, product, UX/UI and technical stakeholders to elicit clear problem understanding. Working with stakeholders and users, you will follow user-centered and evidence-driven design approaches, validating the best solutions through user research and interviewing SMEs. Ensuring to deliver the most usable, viable and feasible solutions that delight our users and meet our business goals.
Activities you will perform will include eliciting and analysing requirements, user testing, uncovering clear problem definition, user task and workflow analysis, various flow diagramming, journey mapping, formative concept design, wireframes, low-fidelity prototyping, usability testing and validation, UI interaction design and UI specifications. You will also work to ensure corporate level UX Standards are implemented, for both consistency and usability.
Preferred location is Denver but flexible for the right candidate.
Role Details
About You:
* At your core, you have an insatiable passion for user experience, as well as quantitative data, discovering new ideas, defining them, and working in a highly-collaborative work style to grow shared understanding of our user's goals, tasks and workflows.
* You are collaborative, professional with solid communication and interpersonal skills.
* You are comfortable with a formative design process and actively work with team members to create sacrificial design concepts and solutions to ultimately deliver the most valuable and usable solutions.
* You validate solution concepts with user research, user interface design and usability validation.
* You effectively communicate your findings through empathetic and thoughtful analysis.
* You establish and foster relationships with stakeholders to ensure success.
* You have experience working in an Agile SDLC and are comfortable supporting scrum teams during development, including off-shore.
* You are driven to ensuring consistency that created UIs adhere to our UX Standards and are congruent with our other products.
* You have a strong understanding of UI and interaction design principles, use of typography, color and page layouts, with a great eye for detail.
* You are comfortable in defining and reporting out on the progress of UX tasks.
Requirements
* Experience with eliciting what user needs and goals might be from a universe of quantitative data is desired along with demonstrable experience in creating data visualizations that serve the functional needs of users.
* Experience and ability to work remotely and virtually from stakeholders and users, while maintaining high-collaboration, clear communications and meeting work expectations. Ability to work locally as needed.
* Over 10 years experience in user experience design of enterprise-level web and responsive applications.
* Minimum 5 years experience with User-Centered Design in an Agile SDLC.
* Minimum 5 years experience in creating and executing usability testing.
* Demonstrable experience in designing responsive web applications or mobile applications.
* Experience with accessibility in web applications.
* Experience with formative design tools such as Axure, Adobe CS, OmniGraffle, Visio, Balsamiq, or similar is required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to balance multiple priorities with acute attention to details.
* This is not an openly creative role, but visual design skills as applied to designing within an established product framework are desired.
* This is not a coding role, a conceptual understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript is desired.
* Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Design, Information Science or equivalent experience.
* Possible 10% travel required, including international.
* Ability to present design and work samples of completed projects is required.
