Were looking for a versatile journalist who can edit, write, and program content across multiple platforms mobile, social, and web. Youll be a key part of Rally Health's agile editorial team; programming stories from a range of premium providers; writing and editing creative health and wellness content for consumer and B2B audiences, and publishing stories and graphics. You will be innovative, self-motivated, and comfortable juggling many things in our dynamic environment while maintaining fanatic attention to detail. Prior experience with health care content is essential.
Ideally, this position will be located in San Francisco, but we will consider our other offices or a remote post, for highly qualified candidates.
Responsibilities:
You will produce, publish, and program licensed and creative content across digital platforms.
You will plan, write, and optimize our popular email newsletters.
You will analyze in-house data for trends and story ideas.
You will copy edit diverse material, from stories and articles to product features and marketing material.
You will develop and assign stories to freelancers as well as internal experts.
You will write original stories that establish Rally as a fresh, credible voice and complement our partner content.
You will edit, and if appropriate, develop and write case studies, white papers, survey reports, and other high-quality branded content.
You will stay up to date on major changes in health policy, health care delivery, public health, and clinical guidelines.
Qualifications:
You have five-plus years mainstream media experience as a writer, editor, or content programmer, with health and wellness, medical, or science background required.
You have familiarity with major international, federal, non-profit, industry, and academic sources of information on health policy, health care delivery, public health, and clinical guidelines.
You are experienced with hierarchy of quality of evidence in clinical guidelines and clinical research.
You are a content programmer with excellent editorial judgment and ability to package and program stories for maximum engagement while maintaining the highest editorial standards.
You have a background in producing and handling diverse content, including text, photos, video, graphics, multimedia, interactive, and social posts.
You have written headlines, done copy editing, and worked with AP Style.
You are able to convey complicated ideas with the right few words.
You are comfortable with metrics, with demonstrated ability to monitor site performance for editorial insights and improvements. Familiarity with Google Analytics a plus.
You possess fluency in social media including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
You have basic web publishing skills (HTML/XML, Photoshop, etc) and experience with content management systems.
You are comfortable in a dynamic environment and with juggling many tasks.
You have proven ability to perform in a collaborative environment with product managers, designers, marketers, and clinical experts.
BA/BS or graduate degree in journalism, communication, or related field.
