The VP of Supply Chain position acts as a member of the Corporate Executive Team and engages with the Operating executive teams to ensure Supply Chain and Procurement initiatives support the overall strategic objectives of the enterprise concerning Cost, Risk and Cash Flow objectives. The position collaborates with business and engineering leadership to prioritize and pursue value engineering opportunities. The position oversees Supply Chain Initiatives, Supplier Development Programs, Division Sourcing and Commodity Management and all Indirect Procurement activities across Altra. The ideal candidate will lead, develop, direct, implement and oversee best-in-class global supply chain and procurement strategies that align with the strategic priorities of the corporation. Preferred locations for this role are Braintree, MA; Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; or other Altra locations. The role can be remote for the right candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops sourcing strategies and plans in connection with all operating companies to best leverage spend and supplier value.
- Oversees market analytics to assess environmental conditions to determine the best sourcing strategies to drive cost savings and cash flow while ensuring supply continuity and minimizing supply risk.
- Leads the development and utilization of tools & systems that support the automation of tactical operations in supply chain and procurement and enhance decision-making capability.
- Oversees design, implementation, management, and monitoring of supply chain and procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements.
- Sponsors the enactment and compliance with corporate codes of ethics and conduct in Supply Chain and Procurement.
- Balances the necessity for year-over-year cost savings with the need to achieve cash flow targets and minimize risks in the supply chain.
- Leads Top-to-Top key supplier visits and negotiations, often containing a high degree of complexity.
- Oversees annual Corporate Supply Chain and Procurement budgets.
- Establishes, improves and maintains supplier performance management and rating system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a bachelor's degree required. MBA or related master's degree preferred.
- Requires 10 + years of supply chain and procurement experience and 5 + years of progressive people management and leadership experience.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments and capable of learning the product mix of the company to make key decisions.
- Proven experience with the management and ownership of budgets, KPIs and developing strategies.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must be available for global travel 40-50% of the time.
