Senior UX Content Strategist
Responsibilities
A Senior Content Strategist is an independent contributor to components as well as a contributor to the overall content team. This role typically works on a few discrete projects at a time to define content requirements, develop copy in English for an American audience with an eye to global localization, and deliver copy and requirements to engineering for implementation. They collaborate closely with user researchers and UX designers as well as team members from our product, marketing, and engineering teams. They also contribute to the UX content practice by following existing guidelines, proposing new guidelines as needed, providing feedback to other content strategists, and sharing insights and best practices with team members within and outside of the UX department.
Project deliverables include:
- strategic points of view
- content audits
- gap analyses
- style guide updates
- content development, including UX copy
- content migration plans
Additional responsibilities may include:
- editing release notes for major product releases (5 to 6 times a year)
Ideal candidates strive to understand the needs of users, maintain an authentic and appropriate voice for the product, handle work efficiently, generate ideas collaboratively with other team members, and present ideas persuasively. They have professional editorial experience, a drive to create order out of chaos, a balanced sense of humor, and a real passion for great content.
- Minimum 4-5 years experience as UX copywriter, content designer, or content strategist
- Ability to develop copy in a unified voice that adheres to established style guidelines
- Understanding of UX design methodologies
- Effective at communication using a range of tools such as personas, site maps, copy decks, content matrices, and presentation decks
- Demonstrate an ability to think strategically and work with various forms of input from critique, user testing and market feedback
- Experience collaborating with interaction and visual designers
- Experience collaborating with an in-house research team
- Experience participating in user testing
- Experience working in a software product development organization
- Understanding of inclusive design and language principles
- Experience in an open source environment
- Experience working in a distributed team
