Job Overview
Are you a seasoned Quality Engineer who is obsessed with code quality, customer satisfaction, and user experience? At Olive we need you to ensure our products exceed customer expectations and help us drive the scalability of the Quality Team. This is a hands on role that gives you the ability to own daily testing activities by designing manual and automated test scenarios and executing those designs. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves to solve ambiguous technical problems and thrives in a growing company.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute manual and automated testing plans to identify software problems
- Triage issues, bugs and errors found during testing and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues quickly
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, solution architects, and other quality engineers to deliver high quality solutions
- Participate and contribute in team Agile ceremonies, ensuring timely and accurate updates and feedback
- Help implement quality practices, procedures and standards to continue to grow the maturity of the quality organization and your team
- Implement and advance automated testing initiatives (Integration Testing, System Testing, Regression Testing) and Load Testing
- Identify SDLC or STLC process bottlenecks and suggest actions for improvement
- Work with senior members of the team to ensure steady progress of assigned tasks are being completed in a timely manner
- Effectively and proactively communicate project status and key issues to Team Leads and/or Leadership
- Assist in on-boarding, coaching and mentoring peers
- 2+ years of hands on quality engineering experience and strong understanding of quality theory and best practices
- 2+ years of experience in Test Automation Engineering
- Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming theory and best practices
- Experience in one or more of the following programming languages: TypeScript, Ruby, Python, Javascript
- Understanding of web technologies like HTML, CSS, JSON, APIs
- Experience with Version Control Systems such as Gitlab, CodeCommit or Bitbucket
- Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Visual Studio Code, JIRA/Confluence, AWS
- Strong ability to debug code, analyzes failures, and trace defects to root causes
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and plan work in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong analytical skills and can creatively solve problems in a fast-paced Agile environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues to internal and external stakeholders
