TITLE: Network Security Advisor
LOCATION: Remote - based anywhere in the USA
FED Role - Citizenship Required
Overview:
We are currently seeking a Network Security Advisor to join our Federal Cybersecurity Engineering and Operations team. The Advisor will join ***s Security & Resiliency Office with the responsibility to support ***s Global Chief Security Officer in all matters of organizational management and execution. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and fast-moving, with the ability to independently lead projects in addition to being responsible for daily activities that ensure the overall health of the organization from an administrative and staff management perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
The Network Security Advisor serves as an operational engineer for the Proxy/VPN/Firewall technologies supported by Federal Cybersecurity. The Advisor ensures all system components are maintained, updated, monitored, accessible, and available according to Federal Cybersecurity standards; while partnering with other engineers in the evaluation, testing, and implementation of diverse solutions.
Prepare and implement firewall and security device policies & changes
Works across the various global IT teams and business units and coordinates resources to effectively perform maintenance and response tasks
Pro-actively researches CVEs to identify required product upgrades
Identifies and recommends process improvements
Provides security control enhancement recommendations based on regulatory and best practice procedures
Communicates and builds effective relationships with people at all levels
Communicates and educates information security risks to management and internal/external teams
Designs and coordinates cohesive plans to enhance and upgrade the suitability of the environment
Reviews, analyzes and resolves difficult and complex information security problems
Develops new approaches and techniques for use by others
Documents and communicates findings
Creates, updates, and maintains internal architecture diagrams and security baselines
Monitors the environment for failures and takes corrective action
Attends internal and vendor training as required
Essential Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Information Security or related major; or equivalent professional experience in a similar role
4+ recent years of experience with Network Security technologies such as Proxy/VPN/Firewall (implementing, monitoring, and configuring)
o McAfee proxies
o SonicWall
o Palo Alto
4+ recent years of direct experience in the field of cybersecurity
Strong understanding of IT and Cybersecurity technologies
Strong understanding of networking and cybersecurity fundamentals e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SSL, Routing & Switching, Firewall Policy & Configuration, IPS
Experience integrating with Splunk
Experience with security processes and documentation
U.S. Citizen who will be working in the *** Federal environment, must go through a vetting process
Desirable Requirements:
- Industry certifications relevant to the role such as: CISSP, CCNA, CCNP/CCIE, SNSA/SNSP
- Knowledge and understanding of Federal compliance requirements, including DFARS ***, ITAR, NIST 800-171, and CMMC Level 3
