Our client, a regional law firm headquartered in Pennsylvania, is seeking an Associate Attorney with an active license in the state of North Carolina that is in good standing with the North Carolina Bar Association. Must have 4 recent years of experience in the default services industry specifically with foreclosure processes in judicial and non-judicial states, creditor right's and bankruptcy. Candidate must have been practicing law in the State of North Carolina for minimum of 4 years. Candidates must be able to commute to the Columbia, South Carolina office periodically as this is a remote position for now until the law practice opens their offices in Charlotte.

The Associate Attorney is licensed in North Carolina responsible for overseeing all legal aspects for cases. The Junior Associate Attorney will work remotely or from our South Carolina office. Some travel is required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned portfolio of client cases
- Draft the foreclosure complaint/notice of hearing, motions and orders for default, decree of foreclosure, notice of sale and trustees' deed or sheriff's deed after sale.
- Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, codes and the like.
- Communicate with clients, internal staff and others to ensure case is handled appropriately.
- Input and maintain information into case management system and ensure data integrity.
- Attend hearings, settlement conferences and other appearances as necessary.
- Establish a strong follow-up system to ensure deadlines are not missed for which various pleadings must be served and filed.
- Prioritize and work at a fast pace on a high volume of files, with a great attention to detail.
- Travel to court and clients, as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- J.D from an ABA accredited law school.
- Bar Admission active and in good standing in the State of NC. Additional licenses a plus.
- At least 4 years of real estate and secure transactions.
- Foreclosure experience with lenders and mortgage services in the state of practice, REQUIRED.
- Creditor's Rights Bankruptcy experience REQUIRED.
- Litigation skills REQUIRED.
- Previous experience with electronic case management systems REQUIRED.
- Knowledge of laws related to practice areas, legal codes and court procedures.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills to communicate with other attorneys, staff and clients.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with Sr. Leadership
- Experience in various client systems used in default services, such as LPS, Lenstar, and Vendorscape, preferred
- Experience managing other attorneys preferred but not necessary.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Ability to handle a large volume of cases.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook and Word.
- Geographic location within commuting distance to Columbia, SC as well as Charlotte, NC as necessary.
