Position Description
Editor
Full-time Remote Position
You are a meticulous editor with superior copyediting/proofreading skills and a solid knowledge of print and electronic publishing processes. You are intellectually curious, eager to learn, and willing and able to adapt to change. You enjoy working independently as well as collaboratively with various individuals and teams (in-house and remote) throughout the organization.
You will be responsible for:
Copyediting and Proofreading 70%
• Copyedit and proofread print and digital/electronic products, research content, marketing materials, corporate documents, and web content.
• Enforce house style, structure, and corporate editorial tone and voice.
• Ensure adherence to copyright and trademark usage rules.
Editorial Services 20%
• Provide editorial project management as needed.
• Maintain project schedules to meet publication dates.
• Manage author communications as appropriate during editorial process.
• Coordinate with managing/senior editors, production team, and external vendors.
• Provide quality checks of freelancer work.
• Perform editorial quality assurance reviews of products at key stages.
• Complete other projects as assigned by Managing Editor.
Manage Errata Process 10%
• Maintain project errata files.
• Review all reprints for editorial, trademark, and copyright changes.
• Proofread corrections and review bluelines.

• One to three years' experience working in a digital production environment preferred
• Two years' experience as an editor in print publishing
• Demonstrated copyediting and proofreading skills
• Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style and APA Publication Manual
• Excellent project management, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in MS Word and Adobe Acrobat required, Excel and PowerPoint desirable
• Understanding of production, printing, and typography
• One to three years' experience working in a digital production environment preferred
• Two years' experience as an editor in print publishing
• Demonstrated copyediting and proofreading skills
• Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style and APA Publication Manual
• Excellent project management, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
