Position: DevOps Engineer
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 12+ month contract to hire
Job Description:
As a DevOps Engineer within the custom development center of excellence team for our Fortune 50 client, you will work with the team to develop infrastructure-as-code templates, reference architectures, and quick-start pipelines to enable cloud services for easy adoption across the enterprise. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team which builds and supports our next generation internal and external cloud infrastructure. To be successful, you will need to have a strong technical orientation in major public clouds particularly Google Cloud Platform and be familiar with multiple GCP products. Must be eligible for full time hire at the end of the contract.
Responsibilities:
- Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
- Experienced in building cloud infrastructure as code automation using tools such as Terraform
- Experienced with cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
- Proficient with git and git workflows
- Experienced in implementing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred, Spinnaker is a plus)
- Experienced in deployment strategies (Blue/Green, Canary)
- Familiar with implementing Chaos engineering principles in the pipeline in order to determine weak links and suggest solutions
- Experienced with implementing QE automation, config & secrets management into the pipelines
- Experience in building / deploying cloud native applications (GKE, Server-less)
- Ensures that all parts of the pipeline follow good software engineering practices to include unit tests and infrastructure tests
- Maintains health of cloud-based production environments through monitoring and typical daily administration duties
- Works with Architecture, Information Security (InfoSec), Application Development to enable the organization to move to the cloud using complete automation
- Excellent communication skills
