The Yoga Well Institute has developed a diverse set of activities in Yoga and Ayurveda including online classes, multiyear in-person trainings, private one-to-one sessions and weekend seminars. The Business Manager will manage the operation of the company, prioritizing and coordinating its current activities as well as understanding its future aims and planning for their implementation in a sustainable way.
Project management of our current activities involves understanding their aims and processes, setting time frames, leading teams, deciding who will do which tasks and being responsible for meeting key objectives.
Strategizing and planning for future development of the organization involves working with the owners and leadership team to understand priorities and create strategy as well as create and implement the company’s plans.
We are looking for someone with a grounding in spirituality, who understands intra-personal transformation work and who loves handling the management of complicated, detailed projects.
You:
You love business. And you love people. You value relationships and transformational spiritual work. Ideas and intellectual knowledge are important, and so is the experiential understanding and practical demonstration of those ideas in one’s behavior. You desire to see the world become a better place through individuals becoming more authentic versions of themselves. You are a master at Nonviolent Communication or similar empathy-connection-based approach to communication.
You also love systems and the details that make them up. You love to dig your teeth into big, complicated, detail-oriented projects that require a systematized work-flow and coordinating with others on a team. You love bringing heart and authenticity into the details and watching them work out efficiently and successfully. You love documenting and communicating the workflow so that everyone can follow along and be with you as a team. You love to sit down and figure out the workflow so that everything can be done in a sustainable manner.
You have a daily, spiritual practice and a commitment to helping others, consider integrity to be of the utmost importance, and value honesty and direct communication. You are willing to have the hard conversations when they come up.
Responsibilities:
Business Management: High level operation and business management skills. Managing the overall operation of the company, prioritizing, streamlining and coordinating all business operations. Understanding all aspects of how to run the company and how to complete priorities in a sustainable way. Have experience creating and implementing a business plan.
Organizational skills: Creating organized working systems, frameworks, job descriptions for all the different roles, and procedural documents (how to do things). Diligently maintain and create a standard operating procedure or business training manual for the business.
Project Management: Being responsible for project management of the entire business. Understanding all tasks associated with each project, set time frame, decide who will complete the task so the objectives are met and ensuring they get completed by the team on-time. Manage administration team and logistics of the business.
People Leadership: High level people leadership skills. Coordinating the team and communicating across all channels of the company to ensure all team members are on point and moving projects forward. Ability to coach and lead the team. Be a relationship builder, client service oriented and a team player. Be able to assess the team members and ensure the right people are hired and trained. Be able to hold and cultivate key relationships. Recruit additional team members and train and manage them into their respective functions.
Marketing: Knowledge of infrastructure of growing online business including online marketing, e-commerce, website design and creation. Familiarity or practical experience with Internet marketing including product planning and launch. Understanding of advertising, affiliate programs and joint ventures. Understanding of product packaging and online traffic generation to website. Work with energetic CEO/Owner of the business to create new revenue streams, taking them from idea to sale conversion and the overall strategic marketing plan that creates a cohesive whole out of these elements.
Finances: Understand finances in terms of what questions to ask, what numbers are needed for projections to make the business grow and expand. Be fiscally responsible.
Business Metrics & Reporting: Capable of metric reporting. Understanding key metrics and how they need to shift and change with the business.
Compensation: This is initially a 20 hour per week position at $25,000 a year, and intended to eventually move to full time.
